Starting on Armed Forces Day through the day before Labor Day, we offer free admission for active duty military families through the Blue Star Museum Program. Approximately two million children have had at least one parent deployed since 2001, and this program is designed to support families who are facing the challenges of deployments and reintegration. We are proud to be one of more than 2,000 museums offering support to military families by providing a shared experience during a time when there is limited time to spend with one another.
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America to improve the quality of life for active duty military families. The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as Active Duty and Reservists, National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.
The 2024 program is running from May 18 (Armed Forces Day) through Sunday, September 1, 2024. Have more questions? See the National Endowment for the Arts' Blue Star Museums FAQ.
