We strive to increase access to LICM for all Long Islanders by removing physical and financial barriers. Three of our access programs include LICM4all, Museums for All, and Military Family benefits.
LICM4all
We are committed to providing programs and services with maximum accessibility beyond ADA-compliance expectations to create an optimal environment that welcomes all children in our community. From Friendly Hours to Sensory Sensitive Performances in LICM’s Theater, and LICM4all Tours to adapted outreaches, we offer a full range of accessibility and inclusion resources to reach, engage, and better serve visitors with disabilities. Learn more about LICM4all.
Museums for All
Through Museums for All, families receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can enjoy general admission of $3 per person up to four people to LICM by presenting their SNAP EBT card and a photo ID. Museums for All is an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and administered by the Association of Children’s Museums through a cooperative agreement with IMLS. Military Families
All year long, we offer free admission for one active duty member, retired military member, or their spouse showing military ID, plus one child. We also offer free admission for active duty military members and up to five additional family members available Armed Forces Day through Labor Day through the Blue Star Museum Program. In addition to the above programs, LICM is committed to removing societal and attitudinal barriers to accessing museums. We strive to achieve this through various community programs to ensure the Museum is accessible to underrepresented audiences. Learn about our community programs.
